Certificate

Note 1: The certificate will take 6-8 weeks to process prior to it being mailed. The certificate is produced by Volkswagen's AutoMuseum in Wolfsburg, Germany and contains authentic signatures, certifying your Volkswagen and what it came with.

Note 2: You may want to call/contact your credit card company to inform them of a pending charge from Germany prior to beginning this process.

Cost: US$51 (as of January, 2008).

Step 1

Go to http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/urkunden.html .

Step 2

Enter the following information:

Nachname: Your last name

Fahrgestellnummer: Your Volkswagen's VIN

Modell: Your Volkswagen's Model (for Cabriolets and Rabbit Convertibles, enter: Golf I Cabriolet)

Zahlungsweise: Select "Kreditkarte"

Click "weiter".

Step 3

On the next page, enter the following information:

Vorname: Your first name

Nachname: Your last name

Straβe: Your street address

PLZ: Your postal code

Ort: Your city, Your state

Land: Your country

Email: Your email address

Lieferadresse: Your ship-to address (include your name and country)

AGB akzeptiert: Click box to accept

Click "weiter".

Step 4

On the next page, verify your information and click "bestellen".

Step 5

On the next page, click the "Zahlung durchführen" button.

Step 6

On the credit card payment page, enter the following information:

Karteninhaber: Your name, as it appears on credit card

Straβe: Your street address

PLZ: Your postal code Wohnort: Your city, Your state

E-mail Adresse: Your email address

Kreditkartennummer: Your credit card number (no spaces)

Prüfnummer der Kreditkarte: Your credit card's 3- or 4-digit security code

Kreditkarte gültig bis: Your credit card's expiration date

(Ignore the last two)

Click the "Zahlung durchführen" button.

Step 7

Wait until your payment is processed. Once your payment is processed, a confirmation page will appear. It will be in German, but print this page for your records. You will also receive two subsequent emails (in German). To translate your confirmations, copy and paste the information into an online translator such as www.babelfish.altavista.com .
